Water Leak in an Elk Grove Garage

The water supply line running through the attic crawl space in this Elk Grove garage sprung a leak. The water stains show the saturated gypsum panels on the walls and ceiling. They were safely removed to expose the open areas as depicted in the After Photo. The poly sheeting covering the studs and cinder blocks create a small volume that was heated with an air mover and dehumidifier to extract the hidden moisture. This step is crucial to ensure that the affected area has been dried and disinfected with antifungal agents before having drywall panels installed.
