Crawl Space Sewage Cleanup in Rolling Meadows
Crawl spaces are often neglected in properties, but there's no way to ignore standing water after flooding occurs, especially when it involves sewage. This crawl space in this home had a burst pipe that resulted in standing sewage water, which needed to be extracted as soon as possible. If left standing for too long, rot and mold can grow, which can lead to mold spores, musty air, and humid air leaking up above into your living space.
After the source was fixed and the HVAC system was removed, the water was extracted and the vapor barrier was disposed of. After disinfectant was sprayed, air movers and dehumidifers were placed in order to thoroughly dry out the structure. Three days later, moisture levels within the crawlspace were reduced to a normal level, after which an enzyme was applied to further reduce smell and the HVAC system was reinstalled.
The Before photo shows standing sewage water within the crawlspace, while the After photo shows the results of the cleanup before the HVAC system was reinstalled.
